I have been working at Walker & Dunlop full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I’ve been with W&D for 15 years and wake up every morning excited to go to work. Fast growing company with great people.

    Cons

The company has grown so fast that there is never a dull moment.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. And recruit more diversity.

I worked at Walker & Dunlop full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

None, except they appear to be very liked in the industry .

    Cons

They took over CWCapital and kicked the good, hard working employees to the curb.

I worked at Walker & Dunlop full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Good benefits -People are nice -Company is growing

    Cons

Management still has old school mentality. WFH should be more flexible. Growth was promised upon hiring but later found out that promotion internally is extremely rare

I have been working at Walker & Dunlop full-time

    Pros

They company is one of the biggest lenders in the multifamily lending space (and expanding into other areas of RE finance such as private equity) but still has the headcount of a small-medium sized company. That makers it easier to stand out through hard work, and that hard work gets rewarded. I've known several people who were promoted in less than a year based on their merits.

    Cons

Starting salaries aren't particularly competitive with the market. That's my main complaint, there's not too much else they're behind on.

    Advice to Management

Review compensation packages for more than just top producers - with the stock dividend continuing to increase and at least one or two acquisitions a year, its not like W&D is struggling financially.

    "It was ok"

I worked at Walker & Dunlop

      Pros

Great systems in place, many good decent employees willing to go above and beyond. Good benefits. Great sense of team in some departments.

      Cons

Inexperienced managers that say one thing and do another. You’ll have to watch your back and cover your reared extra well. Lots of finger pointing when things go sideways. Work here if you like to be stressed out over things beyond your control.

I worked at Walker & Dunlop for more than a year

      Pros

It's a great starting out job, but don't stay there for more than 2 years.

      Cons

The CEO needs to be more connected with the employees. He talks a big talk but doesn't interact with us. And management is pretty old and white, they lack diversity in a big way. The pay kind of sucks too.

      Advice to Management

Be more connected with your employees and strive to help them further their careers!
