I worked at Wallace Community College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    You get paid at least.

    Cons

You have to be on guard at all times. Every person that I talked to that was getting ready to retire was counting down the seconds. This place will suck the life out of you.

You cannot trust anyone and have to watch your back constantly. If you ask someone to do their job you get reported for a hostile working environment.

    Advice to Management

Wallace is so messed up that I can't give any advice to management because they really do not care and are just trying to hold on until retirement.

I have been working at Wallace Community College full-time

    Pros

Benefits are good. Not hard work. If you want to do just the minimum this is the place for you.

    Cons

Most employees just want to get their 20 years in and the get the heck out. People feel entitled and do not expect them to go the extra mile. They are in by 8 out by 5.

    Advice to Management

    Grow some.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Wallace Community College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved everything about working at the Dothan campus. I learned a great deal and advancement was obtainable if you want. My day was filled with high school students looking for a college education to jump start their careers

    Cons

The downside working at Wallace was the pay. The pay increases did not come fast enough. Another issue was with the department heads not being friendly enough to approach.

I have been working at Wallace Community College full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Laid back and the people are great. People appreciate when you do things for them. Great retirement benefits and health benefits.

    Cons

Don't count on pay raises because they come from the legislature. You have to guard against becoming complacent. Some employees will just do the basics of their job to get by.

    Pros

The staff are very helpful and polite. The principal is also very approachable.

    Cons

I wished they gave me more hours or the opportunity to teach different kinds of students. I always gone the same level or nationality of students.

    Advice to Management

Do more research on the cultural practices of the countries in which your students come from so as to avoid misunderstandings.
