    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Wallace Roberts & Todd full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Learned many things from a variety of people, sadly most are no long with the firm thanks to the recession and general attrition.

    Great location

    Bright welcoming office space

    Cons

Compensation leaves something to be desired.

Leadership is too busy trying to keep the firm afloat that they are not paying attention and rewarding the staff that produces great work for them.

Will second the first persons comment about many egos.

HOWEVER, I'm offended by the first persons post regarding homosexuals. This has absolutely nothing to do with WRT as a company and how their people operate. I never encountered anything but professionalism and this was NEVER an issue nor did I witness it as an issue.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as you would like to be treated. Reward them for the work they do, the time they put in and the relationships they form. Look at other companies and realize that your compensation is no where near comparable to other firms.

Help people grow, don't pigeon hole them into a role just because they excel at it. Architects need to be more well rounded and learn all aspects which will only help them excel.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Wallace Roberts & Todd full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great smart people - I learned so much

    Cons

Highly political leadership, stagnant salaries. If you were great at something, there was a tendency for leadership to keep you in that zone which inhibited learning new skills.
