I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's not a mom-and-pop operation so you know that the organization is going to be around forever. It's a salary position so you know your hours won't be caught when business is slow.

    Cons

They always want you to do more with less which means more work and less hours and less help. The expectation is the minimum 48 hours a week but you end up working between 60 and 70 and that doesn't count the extra time you put in for holidays

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate your people. The pay isn't the best so sometimes please and thank you go a long way to helping an associate feel appreciated.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work there provides an opportunity to expand on your skills. Not only is it a physical job, but it's with social and mental aspects, as well. It certainly gave me a reason to cancel my gym membership.

    Cons

Considering that I was okay with the job in and of itself, and the bosses were okay for the most part, my only issue was with the co-workers. Many of them were good people, but some got under my skin something fierce.
