I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Walmart is a company that is very easy to advance in if you do the work. Ive been with the company for 18 months and will be an assistant manager when i complete the training course. I started as a sales associate.

    Cons

As a supervisor in walmart it is difficult to retain good help so you will do a lot of work yourself and overtime is must. most associates travel 25-50 miles to work passing 5-10 walmarts on the way.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to spend more time cross training employees. A customer doesn't care if you're the Manager over electronics they expect you to know where every item in the store is

    Pros

    Employee discount: took off tax
Knowing the ins and outs of where to shop and how to shop

    Cons

    Over worked
Lesser pay…Walmart prides themselves on paying women the same amount as men. I trained cashiers and was overqualified, yet made less money than the employees I helped train despite the fact that they had no knowledge of customer service, the front end, or POS systems.

    Advice to Management

Do not over use employees that you know are doing a great job, especially without rewarding them.
