I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Upbeat associates. Happy customers (most of the time). Some great managers.

    Cons

Switching managers around during inoperative times. Expecting too much from associates when short handed on given days and times. Managers not willing to work with you on work ethics to help improve your abilities.

    Advice to Management

Don't change half way through evaluation periods and give half assed evaluations. Make work more fun by doing activities at given points of the month or year, renewing vigor and drive, and allowing associates to work better. Don't tell new hires they can be something other than a sales associate, and then not give them the opportunity to prove they can or say the position is not available.
