I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They will hire anyone. Decent starting pay.

    Cons

There is always favoritism. Too much standing.

    Advice to Management

Talk to each other and listen to associates about problems around the store.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clean and organized, customers are usually friendly

    Cons

Management makes you feel stupid if you make the smallest mistake. Very passive aggressive and extremely condescending. Will be talked to like a child. Treated disrespectfully by fellow coworkers and the csm's are crusty and rude. Not worth the 9 hour work day.

    Advice to Management

Hire younger and more respectful people. Try to be more helpful with training.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only pros I can really find are that it beats unemployment and the employee discount comes in handy.

    Cons

Walmart is not the best as far as taking care of or caring about the welfare of their employees. I had been there for two years with no call outs or tardies, but when I fell ill I was terminated even though I went through the proper chain of communication and had supporting documentation from my treating physicians. Also, their blackout dates are absurd. You aren't allowed to request any time off during Thanksgiving-Christmas or from memorial day-labor day, so spending any time with family is out of the question as an employee here.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees. Show genuine concern in people and your employment will increase and people will be happy to work for you.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with and communicate with lots of people. High tempo. Rarely boring. Ability to gain knowledge for further management opportunities.

    Cons

Belligerent customers. Vast incompetency of many managers and associates. Most of management does not hold people accountable. People are allowed to essentially get a paycheck for doing nothing, then people who actually work get all the criticism.

    Advice to Management

    Hold people accountable.
