I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Walmart Labs at Bangalore is a great place to work. Just loved the environment there. Enough to challenge you to take on new responsibilities and at the same time you can have some fun as well.

    Cons

Most of the policies and decisions and driven the HQ in US, but then that is the case with most MNCs

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Compensation & Benefits. Work Life Balance used to be good until some time back.

    Cons

Bell curve has been introduced which demoralizes employees. The latest hiring spree has lead to significant decrease in the quality of engineers. Huge discrepancy in promotions across pillars.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get lots of food, free transport, gym, internet extra from CTC. Annual incentive is good.

    Cons

The quality has degraded since the past two years due to hiring spree.

    Advice to Management

Please hire smart people instead of hiring more people. This has degraded the quality of work and culture here.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Structured, defined scope of work Decent salary package Good hikes every year Good food and refreshments Flexible work timings All perks of a Product-based company (eventhough reduced in the last 4-5 years)

    Cons

Extremely egoistic and pompous top management. The higher a person's grade, the higher is their ego (workplace and outside) Not open to new ideas, your good ideas will be taken credit of by the management Discrimination against North-Indians VERY IMPORTANT : Opportunities to learn is negligible (compared to other product-based companies)

    Advice to Management

Management has been working the same way since the last 10 years, despite innumerable advices. Nothing is going to change their approach of smothering talent.

    Advice to Management

Stop doing micro management, employee knows their responsibility. Try recognise the smart work & Hard work. Don't show off you are paying too much for employee, Work & Pay need to be balanced

Current Employee - Software Engineer in Bangalore

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

One of the largest company in the world.

    Cons

There is nothing good review for an associate. A lot of politics is in senior management. No technical growth. The nature of work is very worst. Everything is handled by onshore team. There is no control in offshore. No career growth. The expectation of higher management is to work on Weekend and late nights. Need to support on each and every day. Not enough opportunities to grow

    Advice to Management

Take care of associate need and problems.
