I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Walmart has a never ending amount of growth and opportunity. If you are hard working and wanting to grow in this company you can. They offer mentors, women in leadership, and workshops to prepare you for interviews and guide you in the right direction. It is a warehouse, so of course you may get dirty and you work a lot around the holiday season but the job experience is worth it. Walmart is also improving their benefits....

    Cons

I do think they did to improve their health coverage. Besides that I believe they are continuously working to improve the warehouse and work experience.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nothing good that I could say

    Cons

Bad managers you feel like you are in jail. They treat you like trash. The prices that they give only the lazy people are the one that get them or the managers friends. You get occurrences for anything. They always talk about safety but there's no safety in the job. They ask for too much production and if dont have work and you meet the production expectations you get an occurrence even if is not your fault. They treat...

    Advice to Management

There's nothing I could say. Managers never listen to the employees.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is decent and that's about all.

    Cons

Management is terrible, too much favoritism, the company is moving more into making production and less about the treatment of their employees. You're treated as a number and less as a person on a daily basis almost, you're threatened with occurrences and write ups for just about everything you can think of. You're expected to come to work even if you're sick or on crunches or you'll receive an occurrence, almost nothing...

    Advice to Management

Start managing, be involved and less dependent on your leads. Start being more genuine with your associates. Give hardworking individuals more opportunities and not just your friends. Be available, and have less "meetings" and have a since of organization.

I worked at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

good pay only through the company, good benefit but after 90 days.

    Cons

a lot of work and lifting in the distribution center, some time you have to lift up to 400 pounds by your self.

    Advice to Management

change the help police and give better pay and tuition reimbursement for the worker, wallmart is a great company and can afford to do a lotbetter than that with his employees

I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than a year

    Pros

One of the reasons shoppers give behind the popularity of Walmart among consumers are the low prices of their products. Aside from different brands to choose from, all of the products sold in the stores and online have much lower prices than the products sold in local stores.

    Cons

The retail giant has numerous issues attributed to it such as discriminating on gender and hiring undocumented workers to clean the stores after store hours. It is said that hiring of employees is tainted with racial discrimination. According to critics, the management hires

    Advice to Management

Supporters of Walmart say that retail stores, especially the bigger ones employ hundreds of workers for their daily operations. As a result, students who want to take part-time jobs to save are given the opportunity to work. Employment also lessens the number of people under welfare as well as reduces the expenses of the government.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay rate, shift, locations. Overtime.

    Cons

  9. "Decent pay - but run like a prison"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Employee - Warehouse Associate in Bethlehem, PA

I worked at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent pay and I loved the 4 day work week

    Cons

The metals detectors, caged break area and environment felt more like a prison than a job.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly enough work environment, though that may not be the case at every store 2 breaks and an hour lunch if you work a full shift. They literally won't let you do your job all day without taking a lunch. While it often gets busy, there is also down-time in this department as well. I imagine that's usually not the case for cashiers upfront. If you have rudimentary knowledge of technology, or you're reasonably...

    Cons

Not allowed to sit down apparently, even when doing tasks that require you to be very low to the ground for long periods of time (like when checking entire binders full of high-price inventory items that are stored barely 6 inches off the ground). Constantly feel understaffed. As I said this department can get very busy and people are very needy and it takes a while to help them sometimes. So if there's only a few...

    Advice to Management

For god's sake train new people. And hire more people. I know they want to squeeze every last drop of sweat and money from the employees they already have without paying anyone else, but the fact of the matter is our level of service dips massively when we're understaffed AND our employees are basically completely untrained. It makes us all look incompetent in front of customers, but especially the management. If...
