    Pros

If you're in college, they're pretty good at working with your schedule.

Managers will listen to your problems but do nothing to try to solve them.

    Advice to Management

    Put in some effort.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary, benefits begin immediately, good pto benefits. They put a lot of care into their health care and have an excellent software system geared toward safety.

    Cons

Division is being run by former CVS and Walgreens executives and appears to be moving in a different direction. Pharmacy and pharmacists were once well supported to do their jobs but are being asked to do more tech related duties which leads to distractions.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose sight of where we came from and what's most important. There's no reason to support giving up any amount of patient safety for the purpose of increasing the bottom line for shareholders.

Good place to get your feet wet and gain retail/customer service experience. If you enjoy that type of work there is multiple opportunities for advancement especially if you continue your education.

    Cons

Lot of politics and negative perception

    Advice to Management

Management varies per store. Mine wasn't bad

    Pros

I really enjoy being around the people that I manage. It is the real reason that I come to work everyday, but upper management can really drive you crazy.

    Cons

You can't be a "hold my hand" kind of worker. You get guidance but for the most part it's just learn as you go, and if you don't then there is another Assistant Manger in the ranks that will do it.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, camaraderie with co-workers, employee discount card, competitive pay, paid time off, wide selection of things to buy

    Cons

Iffy work-life balance, long hours, you may not get full-time for months or even years after getting hired, dull, mind-numbing, monotonous, micromanagers

    Advice to Management

We have lives outside of work; let us live them.

    Pros

easy and sustainable work, hard to get fired and a great place to meet new people and make great friends.

    Cons

Doesn't pay very well and customers can get quite aggrivating at times. Walmart doesn't really allow you to smoke on the job either.

    Advice to Management

I think the management at walmart should consider giving their employees more breaks and pay them better. I also think they should make it easier for others to advance in their career.
