I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Possibly flexible schedules, training, little to no experience necessary. Good first job to get experience and those that need part-time and flexibility. "open door policy"

    Cons

drama, coworkers often don't have good work ethic, walmart never schedule s enough people/want 1 person to do the work of 5. Hard to advance due to favoritism

    Advice to Management

Hire people with good work ethic and fire those who are no mature or responsible.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I got a chance to learn a new skill set, interact with customers in a more relaxed setting than some other departments, and got to make many people happy with their birthdays and other events.

    Cons

No matter how short staffed you are in your area you aren't getting any assistance. You will be overworked, underpaid, and when you voice concerns about your workload they ignore you and demand that you do more. When you prove it's not possible for it to be done, they call you lazy and tell you to stay late or threaten your job.

    Advice to Management

Raise your wages, be more lenient with the workload, listen to your employees, and put a second assistant manager in charge of the fresh departments. If one manager is too overwhelmed to help out and actively handle all areas then have two in charge.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really fun to learn and great pay! Found my real passion that I had no idea I would be good at.

    Cons

Wouldn’t let you be creative. Bad management. Asked way too much. Basically self taught. Quantity over quality. Frosting sucked really bad in the winter. Extremely stressful.

    Advice to Management

Stop making my cake decorator do the ordering unless you’re going to pay them manager pay. Let them be creative!!! Finally, stop asking so goddamn much.
