I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay is ok if your in management. Especially for external hires. Definitely some great people who work there and some great teams. Discount is nice on top of their already low prices.

    Cons

Management ends up working 7/8 days straight and they push your days off further and further ahead so you actually get less days off throughout the year. If you didn't have to leave the building and could just continue working 7 days a week without any breaks or rest they would make you do it. They hide their managers attendance policy from their internal system so it can't be found by management and then give you trouble...

    Advice to Management

Store management for the most part is fine but head office level needs to understand that if they don't take care of their people and continue to burn out all of their managers they will not gain anything and they will only keep bleeding managers and replacing them with new ones and burn them out in a cycle that will just continue and continue.

I worked at Walmart part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Co-workers were friendly. Close to home. Nothing else.

    Cons

First, I was unwilling added to a WhatsApp chat and spammed with 80-100 messages per day even on my days off. That’s not cool. Second, management could care less about the employees. They made errors and blamed me. They gave me attitude instead of compassion. They tried to make me feel like I was wasting their time or a bother. It took over a week just to see my manager despite reminding her several times I needed to...

    Pros

-10% discount is nice to have -Management will leave you alone for 99% of your work time -If you're efficient with grabbing carts there can be plenty of downtime -Pretty decent exercise while working (continuously walking) -Morning and Evening weekday shifts require minimal work (if you're efficient) -Request for time off can be done online without hassle -Decent money for entry level job, includes minor vacation...

    Cons

-Work is weather independent whether heavy rain, +36 to -40 you will have to be working outside, dress appropriately -Strays (abandoned carts) tend to spike during heavy rains, strong winds or super-cold weather forcing you to work longer outside during those times -Sale days (Boxing, Labour day, Black Friday etc.) can be very exhausting due to the amount of traffic in the store, combined with plenty of strays outside...
