I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you are working, you are getting paid for it. They try to help and work with you are having difficulties finishing work tasks on time.

    Cons

Highest Expectations for a Perfect World where workers know exactly where everything goes and do their job correctly all the time, and customers know where every item is but if they decide not to get it, they put it back exactly where they found it. That will happen when ....(finish the sentence yourself).

    Advice to Management

Optional timers/clocks to put on our rocketcarts or by where we are working to try to improve productivity.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing good about this job, I just wanted an overnight shift to spend more time with my kids and husband, and because they don't drug test, I got treated like crap. I am a clean, decent member of society who didn't deserve what I got.

    Cons

No training, no PTO or insurance of any kind for 6 months!!! Not enough time for freight, managers can't schedule, no morals, it's like paid slavery.

    Advice to Management

    Training, basic human decency

I have been working at Walmart (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Tools, Cameras, Special Projects, etc and never knowing what the day could bring. Today you follow your routines, tomorrow will be a different story.

    Cons

Micro Management and trying to get an idea or movement going can take over 1 year + to get momentum. Lots of politics that must be played while working for the company. Be prepared to work 60+ hour work weeks with no recognition of any hard work put into the job.

    Advice to Management

Be prepared for politics and have a better understanding of where some of the associates are coming from. Don't let them abuse you, but be able to determine who is in need, and who is using others. Recognize associates not only for their successes, and help identify failures and ways of improvement for future projects. Never beat an associate down, and always provide respect for the individual.

    Pros

    Always room for promotion.
    Flexible hours

    Cons

Once promoted to management, expect to be constantly told off for not doing enough.
I ran two departments and every day at least two people called into work but I was still expected to pick up all the slack.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management was great and didn't complain about my work ever and was there to answer all the questions I had. Also I had many interesting and friendly customers.

    Cons

Sometimes the customers would be very inconsiderate and obnoxious. Management hates change in policies. Also I didn't appreciate the lack of support from coworkers.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work
