I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company believe in training and building up their employees. They want to see you succeed as an employee and will invest their time and money to train you properly with pay. Great work environment. Lots of entry level and professional job opportunities. Many opportunities to grow within the company. Great Management team.

    Cons

Not that many cons. Great work place but salary managers have to work long hours a day but don't get paid for overtime work.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Walmart full-time

    Pros

Associate recognitions, cafe and Starbucks coffee

    Cons

Controlling leadership, different directions from different management, no transparency, unprofessional environment and culture, Directors talk down to everyone and not always honest, Directors show favoritism and don't like questions since they look at it like you are questioning their decisions, no new ideas since most management and Directors are from within the company - they don't like people from outside the company and treat them badly by putting them down or constantly telling them they are doing bad

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging, listen more to other people's ideas, be more honest and quit lying, be consistent with policies, quit showing favoritism, stop degrading everyone else below you, hire more people with different thoughts, ideas, and backgrounds instead of just talking about it and always hiring or promoting internally, follow-through and follow-up on things, treat everyone equally, understand that everyone is different instead of trying to make us all work, think, and act the same

I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility with work schedule. Ability to make up time missed

    Cons

No real PTO until months after starting. Benefits aren't great. They are seeking people with accounting degrees, but paying them the same as people with no background in accounting. Also work has nothing to do with accounting. Hard to move up in the company as well. They post a lot of lateral moves, but no upward movement

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for individuals who actually have the background and the work performance to go with it.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team building, motivational quotes, flexible work schedule. Just having the number 1 global retailer on your resume, is totally awesome.

    Cons

In hindsight, being the number 1 retailer (globally) doesn't equate to number 1 paying globally. Walmart demands so much of you (in casual setting). Without truly paying you your worth. My advice: know your worth before you come work for this employer.

    Advice to Management

The open door policy: could use some fine tuning. The internal promotion process could be restructured. Just to eliminate bias hiring/promotion selection process.
