I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Compensation is hard to match at management level, it is very competitive pay.

    Cons

They just shut down a bunch of promotional opportunities by reducing the Co-manager positions.

    Advice to Management

Don't just talk about the value of your associates, show it. Thank your associates.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

easy work, good benefits available flexible schedule

    Cons

Policy changes in recent past make employees seem less important, give less incentive to try harder. especially when they did away with Merit based performance reviews and give everyone an annual 2% raise across the board.

    Advice to Management

bring back merit based pay increases!

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    + Hard, fun work.
+ (Mostly) excellent team of coworkers.
    + Decent pay and benefits.
+Management great with working with your personal schedule.
+ Good first job if you're not in automotive.

    Cons

    - Managers overlooking safety concerns after being notified several times.
    - Management refusing to do anything about slackers and others who exploit their systems for extra paid time off.
    - No advancement in automotive outside of supervisors. You need to move into retail to go any further (Not a con if you enjoy Retail).

    Advice to Management

Listen to your workers, at least be up front and honest with them about what you're doing and how you're trying to help them. Stand up for the hard workers, try and do something about those who are known to manipulate and abuse the system.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to learn how to decorate cakes

    Cons

The supervisor s all have a chip on their shoulder s and don't like to hear helpful suggestions. Also, thier is a lack of cleanliness so meat and cake tools are not always properly be sterilization but still used interchangeably.

    Advice to Management

Following corporate's protocols for food safety and train employees to do the job they were hired for and not other jobs where workers are simply slacking.

I have been working at Walmart (More than 8 years)

    Pros

An honest review is a foreign word for WM

    Cons

Walmart reviews are a FARCE! I tried to submit a review (five times) I had written for Sundeal M7SL 26 Mountain Bike and Wallmart continues to censor my reviews by DELETING them. I give Walmart and big fat ZERO along with the seller of the bike, Cross Lake Sales, who couldn't even tell me what replacement brake pads I need for the bike. I will never rely on any one-sided reviews and I will post this else were on the met. WM allows only favorable reviews of its products.

    Advice to Management

    Get some ethics.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Employee discount, 1 hour lunch

    Cons

Unpredictable schedule, poor management, little opportunity for advancement

    Advice to Management

The assistant managers and upward are biased in who they promote, they promote some people within only two months while other equally hard working people are left at the same pay rate

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Better than expected pay
-As much overtime available as I am willing to take during busy seasons
-Clear, achievable path of advancement with good future opportunities

    Cons

-Hostile customers (I've been punched, held at knifepoint, had an active shooter in the store and the most annoying is the kids trying to pester employees to get a reaction for a viral video)
    - Really rough work life balance
    - Constant blame game between Days, Closers, and overnights

    Advice to Management

Find a way to get all shifts to work as a team - might be impossible under current processes

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cool people to work with, never used benefits but they seemed to have good ones. The ten percent discount was nice as well.

    Cons

Even if you move up you won’t get paid much more. They offered me a supervisor position and weren’t going to give me a raise.

    Advice to Management

When you finally find a good overnight employee don’t let them go for nights they had a doctors note for. Also don’t be greedy pay your employees more.
