I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A great place to learn a lot about sales, being a cashier, do a lot of things. Has flexibility of adjusting hours around family up keep. Understands employees.

    Cons

Some times ,there politics and other things to do a few staffs in respect to do with character that require attention and needs to be addressed. Also there is favoritism with scheduling of hours to staffs by department heads. Pay rate is some what low making employees unhappy as they find it difficult to maintain their family in terms of cost of living.

    Advice to Management

Though management tries hard to discipline employees who misbehavior , there is more room for improvement . Measures should be taken and put in place to allow employees to do survey recommendation of seniors annually to see how they are handling their subordinates and what their subordinates have to say about them in respect of their performance and character. I think this will help to eliminate the favoritism, politics, and discrimination that goes on.
