I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a job that isn't too hard to work with, so long as you can keep a clean space and can communicate effectively with customers. Flexibility in what you can do is helpful just in case you need to do something that's outside what you do normally.

    Cons

Experience will vary depending on the Assistant Managers working at your store and the customers that you'd regularly deal with.

    Advice to Management

Always try to think of a bigger picture and don't let a momentary whim drive who you pull to do something. Always ask if an associate can help you, don't just pull them from their station because you may not know what they were doing.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Reasonably flexible after you prove your worth to floor managers. Some decent people work here. Shame upper management doesn’t care.

    Cons

    Chronically short staffed.
    Not accommodating age or ability.
    Expectations are completely unrealistic.
    Overwhelming work load.
Horrible management who don’t have a clue and don’t care about employees.
Walmart brand over customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Care about the people you profit from. This is ludicrous.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You have some freedom with your breaks and what you do with your time.

    Cons

The majority of management seemed to care far more about how much work is being done than ensuring their employees needs are met.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and respect their needs. Don't make your employees bend over backwards for things that should be simple if you help at all.
