I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The job essentially entails coming into your store, doing your work, & going home. As a Customer Service Supervisor, things are typically pretty fast paced & curve-balls are often thrown at you. But in the end, it is an easygoing & enjoyable experience.

    Cons

It feels like High School all over again with the amount of workplace drama & gossip. Every other week someone is talking about someone behind their back & conflict is a normal thing to see around the store. Not to mention the amount of brown nosing that goes on. If you want to move up, you'd better get ready to kiss a**. Also, specifically for Customer Service Supervisors, everything that goes wrong is your fault.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They are human beings too that sometimes have bad days. Instead of using your power as a manager to get a job done, build relationships instead to get a job done together.

    Cons

nothing. even the people you work with talk crap behind your back if your the latest drama or rumor going around the store.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites and going to smoke outside several times a day. Stop yelling at the cusomter service supervisors for the lines being long when you know darn well there isnt enough workers up front.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than a year

      Pros

They offered flexible hours along with proper training. Upper management always supported what lower management felt was right.

      Cons

There wasn't much of a sense of urgency for customer issues and problems.

      Advice to Management

In such a large world of big business, pay attention to the small people. Your associates and your customers are who keep you in business. Their opinions are important.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Amazing benefits, unheard of flexibility with absences, not a monotonous job, working here literally cured me of about 80% of my severe social anxiety, you learn how to read people and situations quickly and clearly.

      Cons

Too much work put on one associate/department, part time associates hours bottom out when not in a busy season, customers can really be trying on one's patience/sanity, although given the option to chose when you can and cannot work, limiting your availability WILL diminish hours received and or any chance of becoming a full time associate.

      Advice to Management

Stop overloading single associates when the department/store runs short, realize 1 person can only do so much, be more understanding of your associates feelings, treat your associates like people, not emotional punching bags.
