I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company cares about the customer and every interaction, big on safety and gives you a chance to improve.

    Cons

It can be frustrating to want to improve the conditions of the section you are in for the better and hit walls even if you could help the company make more money and it’s hard to look for better positions sometimes cause theres people locked on them.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good resources and training provided
    Good corporate culture
    Flexible hours
    Flexible dress code
    Hard work is rewarded quickly
    Higher than average starting pay
    Matching 401k up to 6%
    Good medical benefits
    They pay for college/only business
They give you Nicotine patches and gum to quit smoking

    Cons

    Under staffed at times
    High turnover
You are expected to do any job at any time
You are expected to do more than one job to make up for lack of hiring/retention
Managers high up don't make much money for amount of hours worked

    Advice to Management

Make sure all jobs are adequately staffed so that your good employees who care are not left picking up the slack and feeling overwhelmed and undervalued and inevitably leave the job. That is how you are losing good people.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits, good enviornment, great new learning opportunities, great new schedules,

    Cons

None really, I just wish there was better communication

    Advice to Management

When one manager says to do one thing and the other says to do the other and you get in trouble for not doing what the other manager said to do. Confusing and not fair for associates, better communication and management to stop clashing when telling associates to do two things at once.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There's always something to do, job security is easy to come by. This place truly has the potential to shine, 5 star quality, if your management is on point with store success, communicating effectively and holding everyone accountable.

    Cons

Terrible management at almost every location I've worked for. Most stores do not have the "blue box" set up properly, or enforce it the way they should be and people are generally poorly trained or thrown to the wolves still, skipping CBLs and Pathways.

    Advice to Management

Do right, hold everyone equally accountable...don't pull your entire fresh team to go stock GM every other morning and monitor your evening crew better, not just the front end.
