I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I really enjoy working with the people. I love the hour lunches, gives you a chance to run and pay a bill if you need to. I can shop right after work also.

    Cons

There is always a lot of freight, and you only have so much time to get it to the floor. That can really be hard sometimes, especially if you are a supervisor. Supervisors also have other obligations also. That alone is quite challenging.

    Advice to Management

They should lead by example and be on the floor all the time. Schedule better so there are enough associates on the floor to better help stock

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The pay and my coworkers

    Cons

Management is absolutely horrible to work for

    Advice to Management

Respect for the individual goes both ways. Having respect for your employees makes happy employees. That's why no one is happy there.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Many options to move up in the company fast if you are willing to learn new things.

    Cons

Being successful hinges on the management at the store you work at. My store wanted people to move up whenever an opportunity came up but other stores only promote people to have a middle management lifetime position.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Helping customers, and other associates. Learning different areas of the store.

    Cons

Never enough help. Always short staffed. Poor scheduling, the new customers first program, does not apply to all stores.

    Advice to Management

Give help in areas when needed example ( scheduling, properly training, and hiring). Stop pulling people from busy areas to go elsewhere in the store, especially during the holidays. It's not fair to the customers or associates.

Respect, listen be quiet fellow the rules that Mr Walton setup for his company. Bullying dose not work in a place of business... always remember kindness goes a long ways.
