I have been working at Walmart (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many chances to grow yourself within the company if you want. Great bonus if you and your store perform well.

    Cons

Sometimes miss lead to keep you in the area. (Hoarse and Carrot) Just keep pushing yourself past this. Some managers are not willing to promote so they are not always "big picture" team players.

    Pros

You can go anywhere in this company if you are willing to put in extremely hard work under some very stressful conditions.

    Advice to Management

Remember who is making you successful in your area of responsibility and always lead from example.

I worked at Walmart (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of room for career advancement. You can advance into positions without a degree provided your performance backs up your skill set. Pay is competitive within the retail industry, good benefits (associate discount, health insurance, 401K, stock purchase).

    Cons

It's retail, so the working hours are long and can happen 24/7. Don't expect to get holidays off, as this is prime customer shopping time. Technology lags behind, which is disappointing for the #1 retailer.

    Advice to Management

Remember Sam Walton always said "Our People Make the Difference". Treat them like they do.
