    Pros

2 breaks during the day. You get a one hour lunch, and can take as long as you want for lunch. 11/hr starting is pretty cool for Walmart.

    Cons

Support Managers have bad attitudes and will talk down to you and belittle you if you’re not a butt kisser. They expect too much out of one associate, and will give you impossible tasks. Hassle getting days off. Fellow associates/managers will throw you under the bus if a customer is around.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Opportunity to buy shares
Some benefits (high priced, mediocre benefits)
    Somewhat competitive pay

    Cons

    Lack of organization within management.
Broke laws when scheduling (would schedule shifts 5-6 hours between one another- worked past midnight, had to be in at 6 am for my next shift)
Switched to overnights and was excluded from the schedule, so I was “on call” everyday.
Employees are reprimanded for going over 36 hours weekly for more than 3 weeks.
Refused to schedule employees (aside for salaried management) full time.
Other employees are stressed, overworked, and underpaid, so they atmosphere was extremely hostile.
    Would purposely understaff.
Reported sexual harassment to one of my managers and she told me “I’m sure he didn’t mean it.”
    Outdated technology.

    Advice to Management

Address issues listed above. Do more than the bear minimum.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

With many locations you can transfer to almost anywhere you want to live.

    Cons

This company used to have great core value, but since the death of it founder sadly his beliefs have eroded even though the company claims to still stand by them. Company has become so overly concerned with being diverse in recent years that they often overlook the best candidate for a job when promoting from within.

    Advice to Management

Company is constantly restructuring salaried management team which can leave you with no guarantee of employment or the type of hours you could be working. Revise policies without notice in their favor to minimize what they have to pay you in severance if they decide to do mass layoffs.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bump in pay. Feel like you have some power over what your shop sells as well as how services are provided. You get to some what have a fixed schedule, as compared to regular team members.

    Cons

You have to deal with the ever shrinking amount of hours your given in order to run your department. Promises are made but never fulfilled by upper mgmt. You are constantly dealing with upset customers.

    Advice to Management

Please do not make promises you have no intention on keeping. Try and back up your employees instead of giving away the whole store to customers when they complain. The customer is not always right, most of the time they are wrong.
