I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bump in pay. Feel like you have some power over what your shop sells as well as how services are provided. You get to some what have a fixed schedule, as compared to regular team members.

    Cons

You have to deal with the ever shrinking amount of hours your given in order to run your department. Promises are made but never fulfilled by upper mgmt. You are constantly dealing with upset customers.

    Advice to Management

Please do not make promises you have no intention on keeping. Try and back up your employees instead of giving away the whole store to customers when they complain. The customer is not always right, most of the time they are wrong.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Comraderie and friendships made with other associates

    Cons

Upper management doesn't care about associates, never enough equipment or supplies to properly do our jobs, total apathy and toxic atmosphere. Very understaffed and constantly getting pulled out of your department to help other areas of the store...then get in trouble when things in your department aren't top notch! lol

    Advice to Management

Don't ignore your employees when they say they need help, stop having hiring freezes when we're slammed with customers and no one in any departments to actually help them.

I have been working at Walmart (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a very interesting job, never a boring day. Great company to work for so far. No big complaints and I am in a rough location

    Cons

The people who shop there can ruin the day. There are a lot of lower class people that frequent the store

    No hand cuffs

    Advice to Management
