I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great experience for those who want to learn retail. Most complex supply chain so great experience for supply chain folks.

    Cons

No memory for good work. Very tribal in its treatment . HR does not do any talent management. Unless you are from Woolsworth don't expect growth.

    Advice to Management

Please do all changes at once.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Good company over all, great place for people to start out.

    Cons

The culture that is spoken of is lived quite as well as it once was

    Advice to Management

Find better ways to change direction other than displacing large groups of associates each year. It is killing the morale and productivity.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Fortune 1 company. Headquarters in small-town America.

    Cons

"Use" you for your skills and 'throw you out' when your no longer needed, or next less expensive associate is available.

    Advice to Management

Treat associates with respect and dignity, do not hire high performing, experienced associates looking for a career and then downsize them 3 months or 6 years, or even 20 years into their career at Walmart.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Opportunity to work for world's largest retailer with a lot of paths to grow professionally. Pay structure if very favorable and diverse.

    Cons

Size of company can sometimes result in people's careers being lost in the shuffle. Job's can be vulnerable to re-structures and change organizational direction

    Advice to Management

Implement better evaluation processes. Associates tend to be rated based on a very categorized 9 box grid system. A lot of context lost in doing so.
