I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I love to work with people and the associates were great!

    Cons

Did not enjoy price matching because depending on who the supervisor was at the time, this weeks is good or last weeks we could honor. Depending upon the CSS who was working that day, it was a little confusing.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The insurance is good. I know I make more money than some of my peers. I feel like its job security because so many people shop there. No matter how bad the economy gets, consumers are still going to need to buy groceries so I also feel like its a good choice to stay stable in uncertain times.

    Cons

Wal-Mart's attendance policy leaves things to be desired. I understand that people shouldn't call in all the time. But I totally disagree with giving someone an unexcused absence when they have a doctor's note to prove that they or a family member were actually ill.

    Advice to Management

They need to spend more time getting to know associates and their situations. They need to take into account that things happen and once in a while people do need to miss work.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The social aspect of the job is fantastic, it allows you to constantly interact with customers and it also allows you to create a more one-on-one relationship with your associates.

    Cons

Unfortunately there is a lot of favoritism and it makes the job that much more harder to advance, with that comes a great deal of tension.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates. They will make or break you.

Not everyone who walks in the doors intends to buy a high end electronic device (TV, computer, phone, etc.), so don't expect sales to be above average every single day.
