I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

An hour lunch break and two fifteen minute breaks, ability to schedule yourself in the slot of an open shift (if it's a job you're trained in, of course)

    Cons

Management promotes using favoritism, not according to work ethic or skill level, benefits only for full time employees after meeting a certain number of worked hours

    Advice to Management

Be sympathetic to needs of employees, and stop promoting only those who have formed close friendships with you

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Just enough hours to feel like full-time with zero benefits! Yay! [/sarcasm]
    - Some co-workers were easy to talk to?

    Cons

    - I went to a manager about a co-worker being absurdly rude for no reason. Turns out the manager was dating the co-worker's brother and the co-worker found out. I left because it was an uncomfortable work environment.
    - I got passed up for a promotion for one half-day absence because I got caught in traffic traveling from 5 states away.
    - They scheduled me 35.5 hours a week so they wouldn't have to offer me full-time benefits for 36+ hours

    Advice to Management

Offer full-time to people who need it. I didn't even need the benefits, just the hours. Also, I wish management was a little more understanding that life does come before work and things happen.

    Pros

They were good about giving breaks and If they didn't the register would lock you out. You are guarantee not to work over 40hrs
Work with nice people that are also sales floor associates

    Cons

One hour lunch break may seem nice but I rather do a 30min and go home early but it's against policy.

    NO OVERTIME

    CSMs were power hungry

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Camaraderie is wonderful, the right team for the right person.

    Cons

Overworked, underpaid, no value of employees, just a beginners introductory step into the working world.

    Advice to Management

Look at your valuable managers as assets, not as dollars it will cost the Corporation to pay them more money...you get what you pay for even in the retail industry.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people there were nice and a few of the managers seemed like good people. Working there was below average at best.

    Cons

It wasnt a good experience for me, the pay was pretty low and they expect you to be on call to come in or do extra work for pennies. Theres no over time and its almost like a cult with how they throw how great Wal-Mart is on you and their love of the creator.

    Advice to Management
