I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Associates know each other's pain.

    Cons

Supervisors and management are harassing and rude, tend to be lazy and on their phones, and only do work when they are going to get in trouble.

They will throw you into the CAP 2 team like its nothing. And that the truck unloading team. I've tried to get out of that department for so long, but no manager or supervisor cares enough.

    Advice to Management

    Fix your approach to associates.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I'll get back to you on that

    Cons

Management, benefits, everyone basically doesn't speak english, everything is a con.

    Advice to Management

reevaluate store management and maybe consider english speaking employees..it literally doesn't make sense how you have a company based in United States where it's primary language is English and you literally hire people that can't speak it...common sense.

    Pros

None that I can think of, except for the few fellow employees who were actually very friendly.

    Cons

Many, almost any other big box retailer would be better to work out.

    Advice to Management

Stop yelling at your employees like you own them and actually embrace them as people.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Convenient work place. Nice associates

    Cons

Working here was a true challenge. I have so much experience and managed a department. Deli Manager. No training, I was literally " thrown in". I know the criteria but I did not know their systems. It was very hard to get answers. Too many supervising managers with huge attitudes and loud radios. There was no chain of command. Time-off was determined by management, especially during the first 3 months, until probationary period had ended. We are always short help. People quit or call out or don't show. You are expected to pick up the slack. Heavy work, lifting, getting cargo from the warehouse or freezer and cooler. The true longtime Walmart employees do not talk back, they complain amongst themselves and work numbing themselves. A lot of people have problems...family, money, alcohol. I have never seen a place with such odd, weird and nasty management. As a manager I made 60 cents more than an associate. Personnel hires every day...a revolving door.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect and manners. Don't manage in this disrespectful way. You would retain good people. It is not the work but the way and style of "wallyland" management that makes them leave. No thank you and no respect for the individual. It was /is unbelievable and is basically a hostile work environment. Also, stop shaving off overtime...give people the money and hours they worked.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Consistent hours usually worked a set schedule of 4 days a week 5 days around Christmas

    Cons

management is horrible, no matter how fast you unload the trucks its never quick enough. Hardest and most physical job in the store yet get paid like cashiers. Be prepared to push carts, stock the freezer, and help with anything else managements asks you.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees better

    Pros

Manager of Front End Manager, Deal with customer issues, Make more money, Get more hours, Management experience, Good job to put on Resume', Work for Fortune 500 company, Can work your way up.

    Cons

They expect you to do EVERYTHING, you have to learn things on your own, because their computer-based training is not helpful.

    Advice to Management

Schedule the right amount of cashiers for the shift, and don't worry so much about the "Scorecard"!
