I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Walmart pays their employees very well and many opportunities to move up the management pole.

    Cons

Walmart has a tendency to move people up that don't show signs of a good work ethic or even that they know how to do the job properly. Most stores have more communication between managers which causes lower level employees to not really know what is going on.

    Advice to Management

Train your employees better. Better cashier create better customer service managers. Happier employees = Better/hard working employees. Quit trying to make so much money and worry about making a better working environment for you r employees.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Freedom, 10 bucks an hour, work not hard

    Cons

Poor management that'll sooner screw you over than take responsibility for their own mistakes.
Unrealistic goals and time frames set when the associates get next to no training and aren't getting any help from so-called management. Customers who run all over you b/c the know your managers will give them items up to 70% off if they raise their voices.

    Advice to Management

Get a spine and a clue, how about some hands-on training for newbies and put some more bodies on the floor or cross train associates for neighboring departments.

I worked at Walmart (More than a year)

    Pros

this a job for some one right out of high school that wants to get a job, not a job to stay at long term. I would not recommended this job to anyone.

    Cons

The cons are your hours will get cut after every holiday that you receive time in half for, and the expect you to work 40+ hours during the holidays including thanks giving and Christmas eve.

    Advice to Management

Do better, be fair, and don't have favorites, and be consistent across the bored. Don't take up drama because it affects the work place environment.
