I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

able to transfer to other stores if in good standing... seemingly accessible management

    Cons

large number of management titles.. confusing chain of command... everything is done over company websites.. schedules done weeks in advance

    Advice to Management

post chain of command... need clear info on how to apply to different positions, who to talk with for different needs.. what are actual specifics of job requirements for different positions

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are okay, but pockets are always lined from top down. Hourly supervisor positions are the ones to be in. Not abused and allow for life outside of job.

    Cons

Continue to cut wages to broaden profit margins. Associates are forced to do the job of 2 or 3 people often missing breaks and lunches. Get called on to help cashier but still held accountable for own job. Health plan is terrible with really high deductible. Shifts are weird and do not allow for work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Get enough associates to actually take care of the customer. Customer First scheduling is a joke. Take care of the management team. The shouldn't be working 85 hrs a week.

    Cons

Being a salaried member of management can mean more hours

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and don't forget to be a role model for employees

    Pros

Great benefits including health, vision, dental. I find the benefits to be very good in the current economy for any industry. Great PTO, with flexibility in usage of the time off.

    Cons

New salaried manager schedule is a bit grueling. Rotates on a six week rotation, one three day weekend off every six weeks. Sometimes work one day off, one day on, one day off. Sometimes 6 days on in a row.

    Advice to Management

Allow store managers to modify schedules.
