I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are many opportunities and room for growth. I have support that always encourages me to be better and guidance when I am struggling.

    Cons

I dont feel there is a downside to working for walmart. Everyday is a learning experience for me.

    Advice to Management

Keep making a difference in other associates. It not only encourages them but builds them up and pushes them to be better.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Very welcoming staff
-Manager is very kind and instructive
-$11.85 is very good for entry-level work
-You can be up to 9 minutes late and you can work overtime as long as it's paid (they get mad if you don't adjust your schedule to include every single minute worked)
-Great environment for introverts to learn their extroverted side (sales floor associates) by greeting guests and asking if they need help
-Lots of thorough computer training (paid hours) before working in the store itself

    Cons

-It's Walmart. Expect drama from both customers and some employees. Exclude yourself from it and your conscience and career will be safe.
-TONS of walking and standing for most positions
-Sometimes you might find yourself to be the one in your department who knows what you're doing (not much) and you have to figure things out yourself!

    Advice to Management

-Pair up new associates' shifts with those with more experience!
-Put some swivel chairs around the store and behind the desks!
-Encourage an environment of kindness and helpfulness between associates and customers!
-Workplace drama should be frowned upon severely, it hurts people!

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good hours and flexibility with schedule. I like getting to work in different areas of the store so when a customer is looking for something I usually know where it is.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth. There a some opportunities. But the people who usually get promoted are not the likeliest of candidates, or the most deserving. Favoritism will play a big factor.

    Advice to Management

Get with each other on your ideas, instead of throwing an associate in circles with different tasks to do. It should be worked out between the managers and then delegated to their associates.
