I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I like to help people. I love seeing the appreciation patient give you. It makes going above and beyond all worth it

    Cons

It is beyond understaffed and keeps pushing the limit of how much work you can do with the smallest amount of people possible, which makes things dangerous. Trying to run a pharmacy with two people for a five people job is just asking for a mistake. They've introduced new technology for patients to refill and pay for their medicine online but what they don't understand is a lot of people want a more hands on experience. We're herding them through because they expect the wait times to be short. It's very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to look into having technology but keeping a more personalized experience for the customers that want it. The company is too focused on numbers and not the actual opinion of the customers

Increasingly harder to advance due to restructuring, Long hours, cutting benefits every year. Company rules change from store to store depending on the store manager or when a new store manager takes over.

    Advice to Management

Your health and personal life will suffer.

I worked at Walmart (More than a year)

    Pros

10% discount. Casual dress code. Decent insurance for your pay and hours.

    Cons

Inexperienced managers with super big egos. Walmart really doesn’t care if you die in a hospital bed or not. They will use all the rituals to bring you back to life so you can work tomorrow.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes the best people get stuck doing scut work and the dumb get promoted.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Standards are pretty low, so you don't have to put in much effort to get a job and even impress your supervisors. Work was not too hard. They were pretty relaxed with us taking breaks longer than the allotted time.

    Cons

Some of the people who work there and some of the people who shop there are irresponsible and lazy, but usually the really bad ones get fired. Pay is not great especially considering the hours which can be inconvenient.
