I worked at Walmart (More than a year)

    Pros

10% discount. Casual dress code. Decent insurance for your pay and hours.

    Cons

Inexperienced managers with super big egos. Walmart really doesn’t care if you die in a hospital bed or not. They will use all the rituals to bring you back to life so you can work tomorrow.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes the best people get stuck doing scut work and the dumb get promoted.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get three breaks, one hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks.

    Cons

    Point system sucks horribly
    favoritism
They don't accept any doctor excuses

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat associates equal and practice what they preach and learn more about there position.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Standards are pretty low, so you don't have to put in much effort to get a job and even impress your supervisors. Work was not too hard. They were pretty relaxed with us taking breaks longer than the allotted time.

    Cons

Some of the people who work there and some of the people who shop there are irresponsible and lazy, but usually the really bad ones get fired. Pay is not great especially considering the hours which can be inconvenient.

If you have a joy for helping others this would be a good fit.

    Listen to your associates more.

Walmart was a great place to work.

    Cons

I have been working at Walmart (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its a job with a paycheck.

    Cons

Shifts are 4 am -1 pm, 7 am to 4pm and 11 am to 8 pm. Employees are worked to exhaustion by management to meet their metrics. You work very hard for little pay. They keep you as part time by giving you 32 hours one week and 40 the next. They are on a bi weekly pay and schedule.

    Advice to Management

Know what it actually takes for your subordinates to do their jobs.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At my store 0332 at the time I came in I reach full time status fairly quick. At 10.50 an hour it's pretty good pay health benefits.

    Cons

At my store the recently promoted two people to department managers and they haven't even been here long enough to receive their discount cards.

    Understaffed
Changed your schedule and not notify you of the change

HR Doesn't seem to be for you like it should

    Lazy management

If you limit your availability they will make you sure you receive no hours
