I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When you have the right CSM's and coworkers, Walmart is generally a great place to work. With 100% availability, you also get more hours.

    Cons

Avoid getting mixed up with the wrong people. They're always watching!

    Advice to Management

Get rid of tattletales and slackers. They make the rest of us work harder for the same amount of money.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Customers, Hours, Location, Most associates, Position

    Cons

Most associates, Some Customers, Management, disrespectfulness, attitudes, and benefits.

    Advice to Management

You are an example of what others should do. Practice what you preach. Inappropriate exchanges between you and customers and you and associates should be eliminated. Certain issues should be discussed in the office not sales floor. There should not be disrespectful behavior towards employees period. Benefits should not cost half a paycheck. And to top it off Store Managers should not only converse with other high up managers only. Get to know your associates. Show appreciation towards the workers.

    Pros

work here will put a smile on your face

    Cons

you can only miss 8 days of non excused work....If you have a hospital homebound child do not apply for this job....!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Talk to other Managers so that the other managers know what the other is talking about so when an employee talks to you....you know exactly what the other manager is thinking.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A regular paycheck. Quarterly bonuses. Employee discounts. Occasionally they will work with you to find a schedule that will work you for more than 27 hours a week. Sometimes as many as 32 hours.

    Cons

Getting breaks or lunch on time. Little or no advancement unless you are in a inner circle. It is who you know that promotes job security. Forget calling out or Doctor excuses-- attendance is mandatory. Walmart is only closed on Christmas Day.

    Advice to Management

I haven't any advice. Big box employers like Walmart will never change unless their bottom line changes.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. The associates are nice. Clean store. Very fast pace work. Get paid to exercise. Loved it.

    Cons

Management was very challenging to work with. I wish it wasn't so political there. Sometimes they would all a million things from you knowing that you couldn't accomplish them all.

    Advice to Management

Be polite and respectful. Make sure to appreciate your associates more.

    Pros

There is absolutely nothing positive to say about this company or its management.

    Cons

Absolutely everything about this place is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Shake your head and make sure that there's something rattling around in there.
I've ran out of things to say. If you're homeless and just need pocket change, here you go.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good hours
    Always Busy
    Always something to do

    Cons

    Very disorganized
    Bad Management
    Bad teamwork
    No coverage/understaffed
Always closing by myself and expecting to be done at 11 when desk closes at 10 but sometimes later because csm makes you take someone at 10:30 or 10:45, or even doing something, like the pull, when knowing I have a lot of work to do to close

    Advice to Management

Be more nice to associate, don't talk down to them or at them. Need to be more efficient in getting the front end to be more organized and better staffed.
