I worked at Walmart part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Employee discount on non-food items. Hourly pay has gone up.

    Cons

They keep you at part time hours to avoid benefits. They expect 1 employee to perform the duties of about 3. You’re frequently called away from your duties to help with work outside your department. They post the falling sales numbers and plummeting satisfaction survey results highlighted by department in the break room. Ya know, just in case you need a reminder that you’re failing and it’s all your fault.

    Advice to Management

    1) Hire MORE people at a decent wage. 2) SCHEDULE them without sending them home mid shift. Then you can be more flexible with people’s shifts as they need it.
