I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Wal-Mart is a very flexible company and is an easy job, most of the time. For the most part I worked full-time hours even though I was technically part time which is what I wanted. The best part are the many discounts you can get, 10% off all items minus grocery items (does however include produce) as well as discounts for their mobile service and many various other discounts for other services or companies.

    Cons

Management is terrible they don't know head from tail half the time. As mentioned above I was part time working full time hours up until recently and they have cut all part-time considered people to well below their means..18-24 hours or less where prior to this I was working 32+. There is no reason for this and they never even gave us warning of it. It has continued the past few weeks and has forced good workers like myself to search for other employment or up and quit without notice . Even with the hours cuts we are still expected to do the same amount of work-It's absolutely ridiculous!

    Advice to Management

Open more full time positions and/or not cut hours to the breaking point. Employ people who are qualified to be managers.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The supervisors were great! My associates and I were friendly. Even though the job had challenges and I had to deal with upset customers from time to time, I really enjoyed the work and experience and want to go back to work for Walmart. I had an interview yesterday. I would not have left Walmart if it had not been for personal illness. I wanted to make it a career, and still do.

    Cons

    None. I have no complaints.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! And don't let a few bad days get you down. You guys are Awesome!!

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Make a great salary, high level of business acumen and experience, stock purchase, 401K, can lateral almost anywhere in the country. Employee discount card.

    Cons

Less than ZERO work/ life balance. What's your family worth cause you're selling them. Schedule stinks, with rare back to back days off. Work EVERY single holiday. A well paid baby sitter to your associates, a negotiator to a ton of customers who have entitlement issues.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your associates to the degree you profess too.
