I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Walmart will hire just about anyone and give them a chance no matter their age, sex, etc.

    Cons

It is difficult to work part-time on a regular schedule because they always want more hours from you except they don't want you to be full-time. The place I worked is now under new management so maybe things have improved I know the pay rate is higher now.

    Advice to Management

Hire better front-line supervisors who are patient and knowledgeable and you will have a better retention rate of new employees.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most of the people I worked with, a couple of managers, having benefits, workers discount, not being killed by shooters

    Cons

One person getting a job needing 3 people accomplished. Then getting written up for not being productive, when you only had a short amount of time to finish what was an 8 hour job...

    Advice to Management

Act like you care about the people you mamage

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers; fast-paced, laid-back atmosphere in the shop area.

    Cons

Low pay; upper management tended to be slow to respond to our calls for help when the Auto Care Center Manager was not available.

    Advice to Management

Upper management usually quick to respond to all other departments. It seems as if the Auto Care Center has to practically beg a salaried member of management for help if the Auto Care Center Manager is unavailable. Be quicker to respond to this particular department since some issues are very time sensitive due to vehicles sometimes being worked on a specific promised time frame.

I have been working at Walmart part-time

    Pros

None. there is not one nice thing i can say about working there.i would rather sort garbage at a dump then go back there.

    Cons

Never in my 40 years of working have i seen employees treated so badly by supervisors. It,s like to them an associate is a lower form of life. Also,I have never seen morale so low anyplace I've worked. Nobody was happy there. I lasted three months and quit. I was told by a supervisor she was sorry to see me go because i did such a great job. I told her she should tell that to somebody who still worked there. She probably still hasn't.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your associates like people.
