I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are friendly and very helpful in teaching new workers the in's and out's of the job.

    Cons

Fast paced, low pay, and no benefits because management schedules you for just under 40hrs per week.

    Advice to Management

Allow full time workers to work 40 hrs per week instead of just 36-39 hrs per week.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedules
    Room for advancement
    Fast paced work environment
    Fun and fulfilling

    Cons

Limited resources for basic job requirements
Having no feedback is to be taken as you are doing a good job

    Advice to Management

Show employee appreciation more - it may not seem like a requirement for any work environment but it would boost moral and encourage more positive results. Also ensuring that stores are outfitted with enough proper equipment and materials for day-to-day tasks.

Good workers, hours, and days off.

    Advice to Management

Thank the non-salaried associates for a job well done instead of always trying to find negatives in everything they do.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

If you work hard, you can easily move up with Walmart. Starting pay for hourly associates has increased over the past few years. Part time associates can get benefits, more options for full time though. Quarterly bonuses for hourly associates if the store meets its financial goals. Management can bonus once a year if annual goals were met and shrink is within acceptable limits, also depends on the market's numbers as well. My opinion of the company is still good overall, even though I did not leave the company willingly.

    Cons

While you do need to work hard to promote, it doesn't hurt to have friends in high places. Lots of politics to play, so to speak. And the higher you go, the more you have to play. And the easier it is to be fired. Work/life balance is much harder for Management than hourly associates.

    Advice to Management

Take time and actually listen to your associates. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel every few years with new programs that have been already done before.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The job is pretty straight forward and easy to understand.

    Cons

Overnight stockers are the guinea pigs and whipping boys of the company. They do the most work, get blamed the most, and rewarded the less. You are also timed to complete your all your tasks. The task times are insane too. You'll rarely get done before your task tine.

    Advice to Management

Stop blaming overnight stockers for everything. There are other jobs in the store beside overnight stockers. If you're going to blame us for everything, reward us too.
