    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of room to grow, tons of potential, multiple opportunities available.

    Cons

JET leadership has been merged with Walmart leadership in the ecommerce arena, and they are terribly cocky, do not listen to new ideas, spend money frivolously, and are simply rude and obscene. They do not model Walmart's ethics one bit, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

    Advice to Management

The eCommerce building is too outdated and stuck in their ways, they refuse to change and are unwelcoming of new people who come in with new ideas and ways to enhance things. Bring in new management and new employees (from Walmart, NOT Jet), that know how to lead others through change, aren't afraid to push the envelope and try new ideas, and that do not target individuals simply because they don't like them. JET leadership...

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - pay - excellent co-workers - the chance to work on a very large scale

    Cons

    - below avg benefits - bonus structure is set up to be unachievable - review process guarantees quarterly "lay-offs" - used to have a very strong culture but that has gone

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good Pay Opportunities to move around

    Cons

Tough Atmosphere Work you hard and don't care about work life balance. Some Upper Management feels that Fear is a good tool to use with Associates.

    Advice to Management

Start thinking about how you can help lead the associates. It is OK to set expectations but you should use Servant Leadership skills to make sure people are set up for success instead of trying to take the legs out from under people. Get rid of the old time Managers that use these bullying tactics. Use associate retention and scoring as a performance rating for the Manager so they will be held accountable.

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Large company. It really depends on the team you are assigned. There is potential to move around and advance if you are in a good area.

    Cons

Very political. You need to know the right people to move up. Reviews are inconsistent. Many areas will not work with you to achieve your goals.

    Advice to Management

Focus on moving associates based on their goals instead of putting them in a bad situation and telling them they need to improve or be fired. LIstening to associates is more than taking notes once a year.

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work family, opportunities, experience, and growth....Great company to work for and the culture runs deep. The company is large enough to have multiple careers and never have to leave the company.

    Cons

Bureaucratic, older technology.... Because of the size, it takes longer than needed, or should, to get something done. There is a lot of red tape to go through. A lot of the technology we are using is end of life.

    Advice to Management

Continue to move fast, communicate, and be enterprise minded

I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Corporate vision is clear - Omni channel digital retail with focus on saving the customer money so they can live better. It is the core of every decision. As various restructures have occurred, the organization is gaining momentum as leaders speak of founder's mentality.

    Cons

Culture is destabilizing in many areas across Home Office as we bring in external talent at the Senior Leader levels. No longer seeing all executives walk the talk. Associates with many years of loyalty are deeply rooted in this culture and are losing hope while new hires may not feel the loss.

    Advice to Management

Mr. Sam said, "outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost their self-esteem of their personal. If people believe in themselves, it's amazing what they can accomplish." "The way management treats Associates is exactly how the associates will treat the customers." Remember these key words when you speak of culture and when you execute. Developing an environment of fear will not accomplish serving the customer.
