I have been working at Walmart full-time

    Pros

Know your business, respect your people. It is just as any other retail operation would operate, as long as you care for your position. Excellent pay, yet you must prove you can live up to the expectations.

    Cons

Be ready to work, retail is not 9-5. I was a store manager prior to entering WalMart, no different.

    Advice to Management

    None, we all work hard.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Promotions are regular and very quick for those with talent and a good work ethic. Great people, friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

Long hours, brutal schedules (work most all weekends) and holiday shoppers can be frighteningly impatient and rude. However, that said, kill em with kindness and you can generally reverse their attitude.

    Advice to Management

Regardless of hiring freezes, short staffing, etc., you need to be on-hand for new employees to answer questions and be involved in the training process. trial by fire can be good, but left to sink, one will never recover without the tools to succeed.

I have been working at Walmart full-time

    Pros

Great transfer potential. Largest company in world. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Stores can be chaotic. Too many chiefs, not enough indians

    Advice to Management

Need to focus on long term growth and customer retention.
