I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to move up if you work hard and respect the attendance policy. Managers are less strict and more down to earth than other companies. Supercenter has so many departments so you can accumilate experience for other jobs quickly.

    Cons

Employees laziness causes minor and sometimes major disorganization problems. Dont really have many cons so far but ive only been there a month.

    Advice to Management

Tighten up on enforcing standard procedure so things could be more ogamize. I was taught 10 differnt ways to perform certains tasks by numerous people. Some ways are right and some are wrong but when they are wrong it hurts inventory.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees to meet store demands rather then using a skeleton crew

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They will work with you on your availability if needed. Good hours available. Potential for a big cash bonus every quarter.

    Cons

Depending on which store and which store manager you have it can be a great place to work. I have had some excellent store managers and the some terrible ones. The bad ones will make the company look terrible.

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good organization for the learner in any field.

    Cons

Hours issues, mismanagement and threat poorly. Any manager can come and order to associate for any task. They do not ask to associate in which project are you working now. There is no communication between department managers. very cult management. Because of mismanagement Wal-Mart electronics and each department loose their sales and side effect come on associate hours.

    Advice to Management

Make Wal-Mart well Discipline and dedicated staff for each deparment. Rotation of associate loose customer service

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Achieved full time and benefits in second year, but had been promised a good work ethic would get me there "Any day now, (from day one!)" Great coworkers. Most of the time good team work was encouraged. Friendliness is a plus - they SAY.

    Cons

Too many customer COMPLIMENTS! Seriously - this was a complaint I received from management! When there were 25-30 letters praising my kindness and willingness to go out of my way to be helpful! Soon after I found other employment - you can't win if they get upset too many are happy with the service you provide that they actually remember your name and write to let the company know! Am fluent in three languages and I brought in more customers.

    Advice to Management

Don't be upset over GOOD reviews! And understand: no one will be liked by everyone. Some customer's can have a bad day and just want to take it out on any employee. I probably got 50-75 +- compliments in writing and 2 complaints - & they focused on the complaints! One complaint was because the line took too long when the customer in front of her couldn't decide what to keep and what not to when she couldn't afford it all. Focusing on what is not within our control is a losing proposition.
