I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In this thrilling, fast paced work environment you'll find in quite interesting to work. With everything from competitive wages to 401K benefits, this company has much to offer. I was even given flexible hours in which I could spend considerable time with my young family.

    Cons

Sometimes in a considerably large shop and work environment as this company has, there tends to be certain customers who may get a little irritated.

    Advice to Management

In those situations you just have to remember to put yourself in the customer's shoes, listen to them and answer them carefully, and try to help as much as possible.

    Pros

Meeting and working with different people of all nationalities. The discount card is very nice and getting Sams Club directly taking out of your paycheck.

Having to work in several different department all at once.

    Advice to Management

Be patience and have an open mind because remember everybody has a boss. So if your manager is upset and taking it out on you just know its because theyre boss took theyre frustration out on them. Not saying it makes it ok because it doesnt.

I have been working at Walmart as an intern (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Room to grow outside of a staff pharmacist position. Unlike most competitors, pharmacist allowed 0.5-1 hour lunch breaks depending on staffing. Pharmacy is not 24 hours.

    Cons

Poor staffing in general. Poor upper management. The technicians and most of Wal-Mart's staff are unpaid and overworked. This is a perfect recipe for angry, pessimistic, rude, and unreliable people working for this company. I have been to multiple Wal-Marts in my area and they all have incredibly rude staff.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees.
