I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Walmart gives each associate the opportunity to advance themselves by gaining valuable knowledge in all aspects of retail management. We use the latest software and have positions in multiple disciplines: compliance, fresh food, retail, computer programming, e-commerce and operations, to name just a few. We are a forward-moving company and are on the leading edge of global retail operations.

    Cons

You may have to relocate to find the job that's perfect for you. Dealing with the public offers a special dynamic and requires skills that you may have to go to school to learn. These are not necessarily hard 'cons' but are cons nonetheless. We do work most holidays and weekends, but most positions offer schedules where you will not be tied down each and every weekend or holiday. There is flexibility.

    Advice to Management

Leading others is difficult, requires discipline and you must come with an open mind to dealing with various types of people from all walks of life. I am sure this is no different than most organizations but Walmart serves more customers than anyone so you will interact at a higher degree. Come prepared.
