I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Flexible schedule. $11 starting rate.

    Cons

This store is getting consistently worse ever since management changed a year ago. Most are newer people with little experience. Sales associates run multiple departments yet are also expected to run registers so nothing ever gets done.

    Advice to Management

Stop overworking your employees. This store is a horrible place to work & this is why you're unable to hire or retain new employees.

    Pros

Consistent schedule, solid benefits, stable work environment, direct deposit, employee discounts.

    Cons

Poor attendance policy, lack of employee communication, disgruntled peers

    Advice to Management

Though their work schedules are generally flexible, it is sometimes difficult to establish and maintain work availability, and many employees recognize that their managers and supervisors usually care little for life circumstances outside of work and will not excuse occasional absences or minor tardies. I have been working at Walmart part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pay, friendly co-workers, and somewhat flexible schedules for college students are the main reasons to stay at Walmart, especially for managers.

    Cons

Lack of communication between salaried managers and hourly associates, rare back up in hard situations, almost impossible requirements from corporate for all stores with little to no consideration of demographics and actual customer need.

    Advice to Management

Speak to your associates on the front lines of the market who experience to the changes implemented day in and day out, before moving forward on changes. The better you are to your employees the better they are to your business and customers.
