I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent. Scheduling is flexible. They have paid vacation and decent benefits. And co workers are pretty nice.

    Cons

The managers have no follow through. As a "newbie" to 3rd shift, I'm framed for everything and not allowed to tell my side or try to dispute.

    Pros

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Get new managers who respect their employees ...I worked here for 2 years and was nothing but disrespected by managers who don't do half the stuff they are suppose to everyday but yell at us for stupid things .

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly work environment, 1 raise once you finish pathways training.

    Cons

Possibility of getting stuck in a department you don't want to be in. I was told orientation that I could switch departments after my 6 months probation. That time came but because I was such a hard worker my manager didn't want to lose me. I was stuck in the same department for 2 year although I expressed interest in switching departments multiple times. Lack for concern of my well being I has customers more concerned about my health then my own employees.

    Advice to Management

Respect associates preference and show concern for associates well being, If an associate comes into work and is unable to effectively get their job done, and informs management. They shouldn't be held accountable if sent home with permission. If its held against it show a lack of appreciation, because they did make an effort to come in and do as much as they could do.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

co workers, learn a lot, pay is at a good rate, the amount of vacation you can earn is great

    Cons

don't always properly train, policies and what managers tell you can be all over the place, promotions are not fairly given, hard to get vacation approved at different times of the year.

    Advice to Management

Work with your associates, do not act like it is a hassle to come up to help with a situation, listen to what your associates concerns are.
