I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good workout, won't miss out on beautiful weather.

    Cons

Management was disorganized, hypocritical, and the exact opposite of open minded. Will give you a written up discipline for little to nothing, even for stuff that that is not in your control. And last, but not least, the customer. I've noticed that the customers at Walmart are lazier than I've seen in most retailers. They treat everything like a trash can and leave carts out in groups 5 steps from the cart corrals.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Formed a family with coworkers, and management often showed appreciation. It was a fast-paced job, and gave me plenty of customer service skills.

    Cons

Understaffed, and holiday seasons are stressful but more often than not we were allowed overtime which made it worth it

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Set hours up until recently. Changes are constantly happening, so I'm not sure now.

    Cons

New hires are making just short of what I am. There's been no extra raise since the minimum wage went up. I have been with Walmart for ten years. I make a dollar more than part timers who have no experience, yet I'm expected to be a role model and teach them. Many of us are slowly getting tired of the lack of compensation. I work in the pharmacy and need to pass a background and drug test. I doubt many would be able to do that. I need to understand drug interaction and know the active ingredient in many OTC products. My pay does not mirror the expectation of the company.

    Advice to Management

Stop the favotism..stop allowing the disrespect just because you are an assistant manager. ... give a compliment or a"good job", instead of only and always pointing out what hasn't been done on a busy day. If the customer comes first, then understand that we might have days that our"Walmart work" doesn't get completed.
