I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, a lot of opportunity for promotion, plenty of time for breaks and lunches, forgiving attendance policy, top of the line inventory and POS systems, reliable job

    Cons

Not enough employees, little to no help most days, often expected to do the work of three people by yourself, always open on holidays, most managers have horrible people skills and are rude and condescending, management retaliation is common, when management gets in trouble by upper managemnt they place blame on hourly works instead of addressing issues and working to fix them, very poor communication between managers, mixed and contradicting direction is often given, sometimes it is hard to know exactly what you are supposed to do because so many different people are telling you different things, pay for department managers should be higher, things are often done incorrectly to hide problems from upper management.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates more, be more selective with who you hire into management positions, provide people skills training to management, stop just teaching Sam Walton's principals and start practicing them.

    Pros

Most employees seem really friendly, but some seem to still have the High School attitude. We'll see how this goes.

    Cons

The employees that have a better then you attitude. Not enough people working certain areas. Someone constantly breathig down your back.

    Advice to Management

All friendly, they seemed to be in a rush and didnt really care that i was there. They didnt offer any of their time if you had questions. In and out interview.
