I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexible with hours
    Multiple Shifts
    Easy to move up

    Cons

    Too much Gossip

Poorly trained management: There are managers that work hard and others that just sit in the office all day. Some managers do not know how to talk to associates, nor manage them. The attendance policy is stupid because there are associates that play chess with their point, and when they get fired for attendance they are brought back the next day.

If you want to be promoted to salary, you have to leave your store.

Constant changes, causing people to lose their job.

    No education credits for hourly.

There are different paths to move up in the company, but it mainly leads to 1 position, which is an Assistant Store Manager

Hourly managers should be paid more, especially when they do more work than their manager, that sits in the office or stands around doing nothing all day.

Too many entitled, rude, and arrogant customers.

    Advice to Management

    Work
    Stricter Attendance policy:

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Starting pay rate is very good. Most fellow associates are very nice and a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Management does not follow availability. I have only worked with Walmart for a short time and have had two conversations with management staff regarding availability. It's odd that I was given the option to state when I am able to work but management doesn't follow it.

    Advice to Management

Follow your employees availability. If you are not able or willing to then don't ask for it.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I don't see many pros , besides the discount card. Also maybe working so close to groceries so not having to drive elsewhere after work. Lol

    Cons

Barely want to let you go for lunch break, don't really let you work on pathways to obtain 10 dollars an hour. Off schedule for weeks at a time.

    Advice to Management

    More hours
