The pay is great for a young adult. Upper leadership is respectful to the management team. Open door policy is great.

    Cons

Work life balance is a bit distorted. Being salary is unfortunate because you are expected to be available 24 hours a day.

    Advice to Management

Work life balance needs some work.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to move to a different job after 6 months. I started as a cashier and it got where I hated it because of the constant standing around and numerous people that were rude for no reason. After my first 6 months, I transferred to Pickup. My store offers both .com order pickup and grocery pickup, so there is rarely a shortage of things to do. It's not my ideal job, but I'm able to put myself through college with it. If you have a good AM, they will take care of you

    Cons

During the holidays, Customer First Scheduling is mandatory. Instead of an Assistant Manager doing the schedule, the computer does it; the AMs can't even go in and edit it, so no swapping shifts during that time. Another negative thing about it is that they typically don't hire full-time employees, but it's not impossible to go from part-time to full-time.

    Pros

Follow policy well on breaks, lunch and being in clock. Good safety standards.

    Cons

Too many bosses telling one associate conflicting directions to complete tasks. Never required number of people to do the job. No accountability for work not finished. Extremely high theft with no recourse to alleviate problem. Favoritism and management dating associates below them

I worked at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've worked for both walmart supercenter and neighborhood market. I enjoyed the neighborhood market a lot more than the supercenter because the customers/other associates are more kind and work together more.

    Cons

I started at $10 an hour at the supercenter and $9 an hour at the neighborhood market, no one helped/trained me at the supercenter and I was just thrown onto register

    Advice to Management

    Fully train employees
