I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I liked the early morning shift and some of the coworkers.

    Cons

Minimum wage pay due to state increase. I was a 3 year associate and was still making minimum wage, never given promotions, but promised many, as they were given to others. Generally screwed over daily.

    Advice to Management

Don't keep your best workers at the bottom because they're your best workers. Promote then and not just tell them, "Hey, you're the best worker I have, that's why I can't have you promoted."

I worked at Walmart (More than a year)

    Pros

Your co-workers are all wonderfully supportive helpful and friendly. A real pleasure to work side by side with!

    Cons

There are a lot of single parents working there. The company is not supportive of this as the constantly changing schedules and barely enough hours to help you pay bills isn't bad enough but if you have more than one child and they get sick and you can't take them to daycare nor send them to school you have to stay home with them. Miss too many days I.e. more than 3 in a 6 mo period and you're terminated! Which can get really bad during flu season!!!

    Advice to Management

Give consistent hours and schedules conducive to the employees home life. A happy employee is always more productive!

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Helpful to gain work experience in various positions and customer service experience.

    Cons

Low wages, no health benefits for part-time workers, the majority of customers are extremely rude (poor work environment), poor upper management adding stress to workers, and no stable work hours with constantly shifting work schedule.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to actually value hard-working employees and give them a living wage with decent hours.
