    I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Performed sales and stocking worked any shift that was available, in office experience receiving and making calls with excellent customer service and a honest smile.

    Cons

    No cons just searching for a new home that's not to far away from home with atleast a decent pay never had and problems exceeding expectations at work.

    Advice to Management

    Please allow me the opportunity to atleast get an interview I'm a hard worker looking for a new home I intend on on staying in your company so that I may move up to a better job title when granted the opportunity .

    I think be a litttle more understanding when it comes to people having sicknesses and disease.

    Pros

    company cares about associates. Can do anything with the company. Company does better when economy goes south. Everyone gets treated fairly.

    Cons

    lots of competition when going for advancement. It is retail, some customers are horrible. You have to be ready for constant change.

    Advice to Management

    Always stay true to the open door policy.

    Really depends on your team and management whether you want to stay or not.

    Hire supervisors that know the job extensively. Or at the very least, more than the associates they are directly over..

    Pros

    Pay for APA's is good.
    Work days go by fast.
    Appreciation by other associates is nice.
    Some members of management are respectful.

    Cons

    Policy is expected to be followed by associates, but management thinks they are above it.
    Good ole boy syndrome.
    No overtime, can't always get work done in allotted timeframe.
    Quick to fire people.
    Management is contradictory, and they do NOT communicate well with associates nor show respect for any individuals outside of management.

    Advice to Management

    Practice what you preach.

    Pros

    I liked being able to help customers and make someone's day by giving good service.

    Cons

    I couldn't get day shift hours - had to work the overnight shift.

    Advice to Management

    Make it easier for employees to give you feedback, don't rely solely on feedback from the supervisors. Employees can provide great ideas to help the company.

    Some of the benefits are above industry standard, but associates are not aware they are available.

    Few Career Opportunities and possibilites for development.

    Pros

    Management was very good at the location that I worked at. They were friendly,helpful, and clear on their requirements for me

    Cons

    The hours were never very flexible. Often had to work holidays, weekends, late nights. Have to deal with complaining customers every day.

    Advice to Management

    I don't have to much advice to give management other than allowing worker to handle more flexible schedules.

    Day goes by fast and keeps you busy as well as working with a partner loading bob carts and liquors on the plane.

    Cons

    Depending on your shift the temperatures can take a toll on you. Your on your feet all day and it gets repetitive

    people are fun to work with, time goes by fast if you stay busy, benefits are decent

    Cons

    no work life balance, worked tons of days and long shifts, employees didnt care, to many task to do in a short period of time, everyone hides eqipment making it hard to do job at times

    recognize associates more and show more compassion to associate needs
