    Pros

You will stock groceries the entire 8 hours. You will be given paid 15 minutes breaks twice and 1 hour of lunchbreak which is not paid.

    Cons

Overnight shift is tiring,so much groceries to be stock in a less given time. You make good friends with Co worker.Super busy on holidays.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great experience and plenty of opportunities for growth. Family like atmosphere among store employees.

    Cons

Hours can be long and benefits are just so-so. Often short staffed and spread thin on sales floor and front end.

    Advice to Management

Help out when needed, don't expect one person to do the job of 4 people.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to get a job. Can feel family-oriented in the Neighborhood Markets.

    Cons

Friendliness and leadership is heavily based on the employees and managers.

    Advice to Management

Always make sure to notice the hard workers and those who put extra into their work.

I worked at Walmart (Less than a year)

    Pros

Generally, the people you work with are kind.

Some walmarts are very flexible and will allow you to leave for school or medical reasons and then come back to work.

    Cons

In certain stores, there is so much management and yet, nothing gets done. When stores are busy, it is difficult to do your job outside of customer service. Typically, management is unaware or apathetic. It is also a job with no appreciation; managers don't acknowledge good work and customers often undermine your intelligence.

    Advice to Management

Know the jobs that need to be done and how to do them. Communicate with staff. Prioritize workload. Supply the materials and training needed.

I worked at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some great people work here, but they are mostly the old veterans who starting working during the Sam Walton era.

    Cons

Horrible on the job training, especially for external hires. No work/life balance. Unfair bonus and promotion structure. New era associates are difficult to work with, don't want to work and will complain to corporate if you even try to reprimand them. I've never seen so many kids complain and complain about actually having to work when your getting paid to do it. No support from Co or Store managers. You are set up to fail, especially being an external hire. I feel like they treat external hires way differently because there's always someone in the store that's been there longer that thinks they deserved the job over you and that one person or persons rally people against you and management allows it. When you get told to do something you start doing that task and manager piles on 30 different tasks the same day and expects them done, even though most of the time it's physically impossible, due to man power. And when you do have the man power and get it all done, I got no appreciation or words of encouragement on a job well done. Instead it's just more negative remarks on things that were never mentioned in the 30 tasks. It's a no win situation and a constant negative environment. There is no such thing as a perfect well stocked and well merchandised Walmart store. If you put up an idea on merchandising items on an end cap you can bet that end cap will be changed 50 times that week. When I first started working in the stores within 6 months the schedule for salary employees changed 3 times. It caused major problems with my family, friends and my health. After almost two years of being fed up and disgusted with my boss and how she treated me and everyone else, I finally just one day went to my office and packed all my stuff up. I told my boss I was taking an extended leave and didn't know if I was returning. I turned around and walked out. Once that ran out I quit. I never went back and refuse to even shop there. They say don't burn your bridges but I gladly blew up this bridge.

    Advice to Management

It's not going to matter what I say. WalMart will do what they want and never listens to their employees. They say they will with their open door policy but it won't happen.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Holidays mean lots of hours to earn, customers, walmart employees are like family, discount card.

    Cons

Low pay, part time usually has minimal hours, weekend/holiday availability.

    Advice to Management

Quit making so many stupid rules. Y'all use to care about employees as much as customers but it doesnt seem that way any moren

I have been working at Walmart (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice coworkers, decent flexibility, amazing management, good minimum pay, good atmosphere at this store at least, and their stores are everywhere so if you move you can easily transfer.

    Cons

The training is more video-based than hands-on at first, customers can be more impolite than other places, and I have heard stories of people not moving up a lot after working there for many years.

    Advice to Management

I can't think of anything now since I started work here just this week but when I think of something I'll write stuff here that isn't just filling up the 20-word mimumum.
