I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are decent, quarterly bonus possible, employees can feel like family.

    Cons

attendance is on a point system. if you miss one or two days, you cant turn in a doctors note to have the points removed. if you hit three days you need more time, you have to file a LOA! Its helpful but its a nightmare to get completed and approved. They do not care about employees. as you see in the news these days installing more self checkouts (their plan is to be almost rid of ALL cashiers), laying off thousands of people and forcing comanagers to downgrade is ridiculous. they are shrinking people down because they want to streamline their ONLINE shopping.

    Advice to Management

no advice to management except i know you worked your butt off to get where you are and a lot is on your shoulders, but YOU should stop and actually LOOK at your employees. they are people, trying to keep their family fed. dont look at them like they are numbers. learn their names, that gives them more respect to you.
